As we bring a new life to our family

we may be losing one... how unfortunate life can be. The doctors say it doesn't look good and they're giving my stepsister until tomorrow to decide what she wants to do. They have done many tests and don't know what’s wrong with the baby. Two EEGs show no brain activity. He's on a breathing machine and has tubes all over him. It just hurts to even think of him and what my stepsister is going through. He was admitted Thursday evening around 10:30pm with high fever, which he had for a couple of days. His pediatrician had diagnosed him with the flu earlier in the week but even with the antibiotics he was taking the medicine wasn't bring dropping his fever. After arriving at the ER he had 4 seizures back 2 back. About a year ago he ad a seizure due to fever but none after that. The multiple seizures caused him to go into a coma and has been in a coma since then. On Friday they had given him 24 hrs. Saturday the doctors did an EEG - no brain activity. They did a nervous system check and he moved his little left foot. So with that the bumped his hours to 72 which will end tomorrow. An MRI showed that his brain was swollen. They did another EEG to compare but they got the same results - nothing. They are going to do a CATSCAN to see if the swelling in his brain has dropped. According to the doctors "whatever" infection he has caused no blood flow to his little brain which caused the seizures (I say "whatever" because they STILL don't know what it is). My mom says that he has a tube in his nose that is draining dirt like subtance. They say it's the infection that is draining. It's so frustrating when the people "doctors" you depend on to give you answers give you nothing just pure "I don't knows". Faith is everything, pray with me that this little angel makes it...

Lord, you love our child as You love all children. Bring healing to our child who is not well. Stay by his side and comfort him through this trying time. Keep us ever mindful of Your loving presence. Bless us with Your powerful healing and comfort us also.
St. Gerard, who, like the Savior, loved children so tenderly and by your prayers freed many from disease and even death, listen to us who are pleading for our sick child. We thank God for the great gift of our son (daughter) and ask him to restore our child to health if such be his holy will. This favor, we beg of you through your love for all children and mothers. Amen.
